Dear Becky

A dear friend of mine, Ms. Becky Czeck, recently passed away from cancer. She was only 44 years old. This was tough for me, as I recently recovered from successful cancer surgery myself. I was fortunate, but Becky began her cancer journey in Stage 4 and had little chance of surviving from the very beginning. Despite being critically ill for the past several months, she never lost her spirit. Her laugh was one you'd never forget. She would find humor in any situation & found it easy to share her joy with others.

With heavy heart I created this card for her mother. Designing a sympathy card during a period of grief was quite an experience. I took my time to make sure it was just right, in memory of Becky.

I used another image from Vogue Vases by Theresa Momber from Gina K Designs. The sentiment is from Tami Mayberry's All Occasion Tags, also Gina K Designs.

  2. OMGosh, what a sad thing. I am so sorry for your loss, and for Becky's family. How tragic that her Mother survives her. It's a horrible thing to lose a child. Cancer is a horrible disease that knows no boundaries, no mercy, and yet somehow brings out the best spirit in those affected and their families. I have seen it time and again, and am in awe of the faith, hope and love of all those who have met this disease and survived, or succumbed, because the spirit never ever dies, it lives on in the families, and friends. I will keep you and Becky's family in my prayers. Thanks for sharing.
