Twisted Easel Card

Hello my friends! How's your weekend coming along? It's another hot, hot day here in North Carolina.

As a Design Team member for The Outlawz Saturday Paper a la Mode Challenges, I was to create a Twisted Easel Card. Well, I'd never done that before, so I went to YouTube and checked out several videos to learn how to do them. Not so hard, after all!

The sponsors for this weeks challenge are Rick St. Dennis and Sassy Studio Designs. I hope you take a look because there are some awesome images at both sites!

I found this paper in my stash by DCWV called Coral Couture that had my favorite colors in it. The stack also had some tags you could cut out, so that was helpful. Then I went to my stash of bling and discovered some flowers in the coral color that goes with the paper. After selecting some pearls, I was ready to put together my card. WooHoo!

I started by folding the cardstock properly for the Twisted Easel Card and then added the patterned paper, die cut butterfly (spellbinders), tag, pearls and flowers. It really wasn't hard, like I said. It just took some time to get it to stand up good for the photograph!

Thank you for stopping by today. I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again real soon ~

Hello My Friend!

Hello my friends! How are you today? I have been busy creating cards while the temperature rises outside. While I enjoy a good tan, I do CANNOT stand the high heat! Sometimes I do mix the two, but most of the time I stay inside and enjoy my crafts.

I created this card soon after receiving the Big Circle Die from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life. I also purchased the Hello My Friend die from the same place, so they arrived together. WooHoo! They fit just right! The papers are from one of their Stamp Club Kits. Yes, I do love Stamps of Life! Their products are such fun, service is great, and the videos a true joy.

Soon after I created this card (like the day after), a dear, dear friend of mine went into the hospital. She's been like a second mother to me. As soon as I got the news she was sick, I took the card and went to see her. The creation brought an instant smile to her face. I'm so glad I could do something to give her a brief moment of reprieve from her illness.

While we might enjoy putting together cards, our creations bring smiles to the face of others. The joy in giving is what keeps us creating.

Thank you for stopping by today! I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again real soon ~

Altenew

Hello! I just received a new stamp set and dies by Altenew called Hennah Elements, and I'm in love with them! They're so much fun to play with, I just had to create a couple of cards right away.

The set comes with flower designs as well as some whimsical images. I saw a video online (sorry I don't have the link) where Catherine Pooler created a card similar to these. She gave me the idea of the black and white Washi Tape. I cut the front of the cards just about 1/2 inch short so the tape on the inside of the cards would show. The border pieces on the front are from Gina K Designs.

The flowers and leaves were watercolored. What fun that was! I couldn't stop once I got started. Once I was finally done watercoloring, I added Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents. That doesn't show up very well in the pictures, but you get the idea.

Happy Father's Day!

Hi! How's everybody's weekend coming along? The weather is super hot where I am, so I'm staying inside and playing with my crafts.

As a member of the DT for Paper a la Mode at The Outlawz, I created this card for the week's challenge. We're to create either/or a Shadowbox card, a Father's Day card, or both in one. I have never made a Shadow Box card, so I made a Father's Day card.

The image is from the Sponsor for the week, Scrapbook Stamp Society. They have the most incredible images that are lots of fun. I hope you take a look by connecting at the link. I found the screws and hammer stickers in a local Hobby Lobby store. The image was colored with Copics.

Father's Day can be a very special day. Even though my father has passed away, I still think about him every day, and especially at that particular time. I hope you are able to connect with your Father, either in your thoughts, your memories or your visits.

Thank you for stopping by today! I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again real soon ~

Bubble Talk

Hello! How are you today? Hope you're able to enjoy some sunshine and it's not getting too hot. Or, if you're in another zone, hope it's not getting too cold!

I love this little elephant in WPlus9's Bubble Talk stamp set. The set comes with three talk bubbles with your choice of sentiments to go inside. I chose this one, thinking of my two sons who live far away. I try to keep a card coming their way every now and then to let them know I'm thinking of them. Being a Mom is hard when the kids are grown and have lives of their own, you know? You do the best you can, keep the communication lines open and then pray everything works out the way it's supposed to. A card goes a long way...pun intended.

I'd better stop that line of thought before I need a tissue!

After die cutting the tag, blue Distress Ink was sponged around the edges. I added some SU silver ribbon after attaching the tag with the white brad.

This card will be posted at Mod Squad, where the challenge is to include a tag.

Thank you for stopping by today! I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again soon.

P.S. I'm a winner! Yay!

Watercolor

Hello! How's everybody doing? It's been a busy week for me, but a good one. I was able to be with family at the West Virginia Day celebration over the weekend, and it was good. Nothing like visiting with loved ones to make your day special. (There are a lot of West Virginians here in Wilmington!)

I wanted to make a card as soon as I came home. I learned about using liquid masks for watercolored cards in my recent class, Mask-erade, so I pulled it out from the cabinet and got to work. The stamped image is Fresh Flowers by Clearly Besotted Stamps. This is one of my favorite stamp sets, as I love flowers. I added some small pearls from my stash.
