Gold Foil

Hi everybody! How's your weekend been? I've spent my days inside, crafting. The clouds outside constantly look like a storm is brewing, so I don't dare go out until it passes.

Today's card is a Sympathy card for a friend of mine from church who's mother passed away. It's been a few weeks, but that's when I like to send cards. This is about the time the comments and cards start to dwindle after someone has passed, and it gets harder for the family to get through their grief.

I used gold foiling for this, using my Heidi Swapp Minc Machine. I wish you could see the shine -- I just love it! Gina K included in one of her recent kits some of these sentiments and patterns that have been printed with a Laser Printer, which is required for foiling. Actually, it's the toner that's required, and you get that from the printer or one of the pens they offer for sale.

The ribbon you see if actually two pieces put together. The black and white is from Gina K, and the gold is from Stampin Up! Since this is a card for a man, I thought it worked well on the inside for decoration rather than flowers.

The style of the sentiment on the inside bothers me, but that's all I had for an inside message. Just doesn't work well with the style on the front. Too late to change it now.

Thank you for visiting me today! I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again real soon ~

  4. Very elegant Sharon. Love how you added the gold ribbon inside and I think the style of the sentiment looks great. You know we are all our own worst critics. Sorry for your friends loss.
