SYS2.Day 2.2

Hello! This is another card I created for Stretch Your Stamps 2 with Online Card Classes. I'm having lots of fun working with the videos.

Laura Sterckx taught us how to use Tim Holtz Distress Inks for an Ombre effect on our cards. For this card, I used Festive Berries, Spice Marmalade and Spun Suger, working from the bottom up. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things stamp set called Favorite Sayings.

SYS2.Day 2

Hello! Here we are at Day 2 for Stretch Your Stamps 2 with Online Card Classes. What fun! Today we extended on what we learned yesterday with background stamps.

This card uses the same background stamp (Hero Arts--thank you, Lisa K!) I had yesterday but today's use was totally different. Jennifer McGuire provided a video that taught us this technique, so I gave it a try.

I inked my stamp with Perfect Medium and stamped it onto white cardstock. Then I used Perfect Pearls to get the color and the shimmer. The ribbon was from my stash, and the sentiment is from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life.

I think this made a perfect Sympathy card with its peaceful shimmer. So glad I had a piece of ribbon to match!

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Day 1

Hello! Hope your day is going well. Mine started off with a bang, as it's the first day of class for Stretch Your Stamps 2 with Online Card Classes. What fun!

After watching videos from Kristina Werner, Shari Carroll, Tasnim Ahmed and Lisa Spangler, I created a card that combined some of the techniques we learned. I inked my reverse stamp with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Fired Brick and Tea Dye, spritzed it, then placed the watercolor paper on top. This is what I got. I tried it a few times, and this one is my favorite. The sentiment, Simply Fabulous Sayings from My Favorite Things, was heat embossed with VersaFine Black Ink and clear embossing powder.

Edging

Hello friends! Hope your day is going well. I am enjoying another day of crafting while the rain continues to pour outside.

This card is a hodge podge of items I had on my desk that I wanted to put together. It took a while to figure out exactly how to do that. The background was cut with my Cricut Expression using the Edge to Edge cartridge. That's brand new, and I LOVE it! Amazing what that machine can do! The flower was die cut with my Sizzix machine using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. I inked the edges with red ink. The ribbon and sentiment are from Gina K Designs.

Hey, Coach!

Hi! I am having more fun with my Cricut Expression. Some cards are easier than others. This one wasn't too detailed, fortunately. My little, tiny brain can only handle so many little, tiny pieces!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #221 is called "Take Me Out to the Ballgame!" and requires something related to sports. Well, since my oldest son, Chris, is an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, I jumped right in to create a card for the challenge. I love hearing him called "Coach" so I cut out the Title and then cut out a player. Red and black are his team's colors, obviously.

I know it's safe to post his card because he's too busy coaching to stop and read Mom's blog!

Hi there! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. It's almost over, and I wanted to quickly create a card for a new challenge.

This card will be entered into the Just Us Girls Photo Week #251 Challenge. I used Stampin Up's Sunny Fun stamp set, which is quite old. I love to bring it out during the hot summer days and create simple cards with the sweet design. (lol, pun intended!) I colored the images with Copic markers and then topped with a little bit of my Sakura glitter pen.

Water' You Doing?

Hi there! How are you today? I am still playing with my Cricut Expression! It's a bit addictive, you know.

This time I created a card that's a bit more simple than the last. Using Life Is A Beach cartridge, I cut the card design in blue paper. Following that, I cut another layer for the inside. Since the images were part of the first layer, I cut it two more times so I could create a yellow seahorse and green seaweed. Then I cut and paste the different colors of pieces on top of the first layer. Finally, I added the sentiment and some bling that would look like bubbles coming up from the water.

I like this card a lot, especially that added bling. It looks pretty in the sunlight. This wasn't a very difficult card to create, but it was lots of fun! Like I said, this can be addictive!

This is another card I'll be entering into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #220, which requires something related to Water.

Water

Hello! How is everybody today? I am enjoying a day simply crafting. Can't beat it! The weather is hot and sticky outside, so I am staying inside where it's cool but I can still see the sunshine.

This card was created for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #220, where it's supposed to include something to do with water. Using my Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge, this was cut with my Cricut Expression. It's been a while since I pulled out that big machine, but I loved it once I got started. This Hello Kitty image has a lot of little pieces, just like a lot of other images that are cut with Cricut. I added raindrops and a sentiment from the Boots4Rain stamp set from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life.
