Holiday Card Workshop Days 1 and 2

Hello everyone! How are you today? I am enjoying Online Card Class's Holiday Card Workshop 2014! Can't believe a whole year has passed since I took the last class for the Holidays!

Day 1 was all about easy-to-duplicate cards. When day 2 came around, which was about interactive cards, I realized I could easily duplicate this card for both lessons. It's a great way to combine two days worth of homework into one card.  :)

I used images and a sentiment from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life. The center circle is actually a die cut that comes out. I layered the piece several times and covered the back since it's meant to be used as an ornament, then I punched a hole at the top and added a piece of Baker's Twine so it would hang easily. The sentiment is heat embossed onto a piece of vellum that's wrapped around the cardstock. This will hold the ornament in place. I colored the image with Copic markers. I really enjoy working with this flexible glitter paper by DCWV. It's quite beautiful and does NOT get glitter everywhere. I also added glitter from a Wink of Stella to the image.

Thank you for stopping by today! I appreciate your visits and comments very much, and if you're in class, I'll see you there!

  5. This is a great idea!!! Make a flat ornament and stick it on the front so the recipient can have a keepsake. You always inspire me, but this is GENIUS!!!!! And I love that you used vellum for the band to hold the ornament. LOVE IT!!!!! Oh, and I'm jealous that you are taking that class. Barb Campbell is too - I just don't have the time. Maybe next year????? LOL!
