Bird Crazy
Hello everybody! Hope you're having a real good day. It's the weekend already, and it's raining! Good day to be crafting!
Today's card was created with Tim Holtz' Bird Crazy stamps. Love Them!!! This was my first card created with these stamps. I'd practiced with a few, but none made it to the card stage. Different backgrounds, different birds. The options are endless!
For the background, I used Salty Ocean, Shabby Shutters and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks, also by Tim Holtz. I decided to use some of what I learned in OCC Background Check class! The sentiment is from Dylusions. I stamped and then cut it out, line by line. After adhering, I added some bling here and there.
I think I'll try this card again some time in the near future and use the Distress Inks in a different order, putting the green on the bottom. I also would like to try a different color for the bird.
Bird Crazy dies would've been used except when I received my order, I was missing the die for this particular bird! Got two of another one but missing this one. Go figure! I'm returning them to Scrapbook.Com and will receive a full refund. Of course, I ordered them again (but from a different place because Scrapbook.Com was out of stock). They were very easy to work with--both the dies and Scrapbook.Com!
Thank you for stopping by today. I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again real soon ~

ReplyDeleteI am not far behind you with the birds - will be ordering them soon. Your card is so stinkin' CUTE!! Love your background and coloring. And you are right, there's so many possibilities with these stamps. Well done!!
ReplyDeleteI am having so much fun seeing these crazy birds! I love the way you colored him - too cute
ReplyDeleteOutstanding sponging, Sharon!! These birds really do lend themselves to so many color and sketch design possibilities and I just love what you have designed here!! I'm also delighted I stopped in just as this post was on the marquee, because I had no idea that Sizzix had come out with dies for this set!! Off to Amazon I went right in the middle of reading your post and I ordered them quick as flash, so thank you for that head's up! Enjoy your day!! Hugs, Darnell

ReplyDeleteHow disappointing about the dies! Hope they don't take too long to get to you hopefully with the CORRECT ones. You've totally rocked this birdie image and just love the beautiful background. You've done your online class proud!
