Regarding Dahlias

Hello everybody! How's your day coming along? Things have finally settled down at my house and I've been able to get back to crafting again. WooHoo! What fun!

Today's card uses the stamp set Regarding Dahlias from Stampin Up! They have just posted their Retired List, and this was on it. Since it's one of the sets I'd earmarked for future purchase, I figured the time was NOW to get it before they no longer offered it.

The card base is Stampin Up's Strawberry Slush, and so is the ink and twine. I like the way everything matches. I didn't have to color the flower, so this was a very easy card to make.

Flowers and Bees

Hello everyone! How are you today? I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post. Life has been busy! A dear friend of mine who has been staying with me had a sudden illness and I spent some time helping him. He is doing fine now, which is good news. Sometimes when my heart goes toward something or someone in a situation like that, I lose my mojo for creativity for a while. In time, however, it always comes back, thank goodness!

I saw a card similar to today's posting on the Paper Blossoms site and fell in love with it. So, combining two of my stamp sets, I gave my best attempt at CASing the card. Using a set by Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life and a Stamp TV Kit by Gina K Designs, I die cut the flowers & leaves (STV) and then stamped the bees and their hives (SOL). Finally, I die cut and layered the "hello" (also from SOL) and added it.

That's it! Once I got everything lined up that I was going to use, the card only took about 5-10 minutes to compile and finish.

Stenciled Thanks

Hello everybody! How's your week coming along? I've been playing around with stencils and inks, and I thought I'd post this card for you.

Using a Mix-ables Stencil by My Favorite Things called Funky Florals, I taped it over the white cardstock and gently tapped the images with SU Strawberry Slush, Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed inks. Taking off the stencil was like Christmas! Voila! Suddenly I had a pretty image with lots of flowers! I added a piece of old red ribbon from my stash for the final step after adding the sentiment from Reverse Confetti.

Thinking of You

Hello everyone! How are you today? I'm back with another card including a stamped image by Phyllis Harris at Unity Stamp Company. This one is called Present In My Heart. I just love her designs. They're so sweet, and the sentiments get right to the heart of the message.

For this card, I stamped a background using a huge stamp block by Heidi Swapp. On a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped and colored the main image using Copic markers, and then I die cut it into a circle using Spellbinders Circle Dies. The butterflies were created with a punch by Martha Stewart. All of this was layered onto blue cardstock and placed onto a white cardbase. The sentiment is from Theresa Momber's Elegant Florals 2 at Gina K Designs and says "Thought of you today...and smiled." What a lovely sentiment! This card could go to anybody, but I'm thinking of family again.

Sending Blessings Your Way

Hello everybody! How's your weekend? It's been a nice, relaxing day for me -- a good time to get creative!

The image for this card is one of my favorites and is created by Phyllis Harris at Unity Stamp Company. Since most of my family is far away, this stamp will come in handy for several cards. I almost tear up every time I see one of her stamp sets because they are so sweet and I miss my family so much. They really get to the heart of the message. (I purchased a couple other stamp sets of hers that you will see in future posts. All are very sweet.)

OK, enough of the that! I'm about to tear up just thinking about it.

After stamping on white cardstock, I colored the image with Copic markers and then layered it onto patterned paper by Stampin Up! Finally, I added a few die cut flowers from Impression Obsession.

Dimension

Hello everyone! How are you? Thank you so much for your prayers and good wishes during my recent bout with hives. I dare not even LOOK at a can of paint again!

I'm here today to share a card I will post in Virginia's View Challenge, where it asks for cards with Dimension.

For this card I used a stamp set from Gina K Designs called Elegant Florals 2 by Theresa Momber. In fact, this is a CASE of her card she demonstrated.

First I sponged Fresh Asparagus ink onto white cardstock, then stamped the fern image using the "stamping off" technique. On separate cardstock I stamped and colored the tulip image with Copic markers. After cutting it out, I popped it up onto the sponged cardstock using pop-dots (thus, the dimension for the Challenge). Finally, I stamped the sentiment on the top of the card. This was all layered onto black and then a card base in Wild Lilac.

Happy Birthday, Coleman!

Hi there! How are you today? I have a very Clean and Simple card for you this time. I realize isn't THAT different from all my other posts, but I think I left off some bling this time that could've made it a little more interesting if I'd had more mojo. (These hives are still driving me crazy. We brought in the last freshly-painted, two drawers and I ended up with twice as many hives! Meds have been started, so they'll fade soon, I hope.)

Anyway, this card is for my son's birthday. He turned 29 on the day before Easter. Can't believe he's that old! He and his wife had a birthday party where they live in Glendale, CA. Wish I could've been there, but the miles between us are too far.

I used a Sizzix die by Stephanie Barnard at Stamps of Life. All of the dies you need are included in the Sizzix die envelope that comes with it, so putting this together was easy. I used some "sticker paper" on the back of everything I die cut so it would stick without the need of glue. There's lots more you could add to the cupcake, like little packages around it, other candles, etc. Like I said, all those dies are included. I just didn't feel like overdoing it since this was for my son. I signed the bottom part of it where there's just blue cardstock.

Happy Easter

Hi! How are you today? I thought I'd add this Happy Easter card before it got to be too late to join in on the fun at Mod Squad Challenges.

Again, I used the Eggstra Special Stamp/Die set from Lawn Fawn for my card. I dry embosssed the background on some hot pink paper and then die cut the Sizzix Label, basket & bunny after coloring with Copics.

This was a very CAS card to make. I'm staying as simple as I can, since I'm still itching, scratching and aching from my paint allergy. YES! I found out I'm allergic to the paint I used on my Kitchen Cabinet Doors project. It was worth it, anyhow. Wanna see?

This is only half the kitchen, but you get the idea. The doors had been solid dark brown before we ordered new ones to paint. Now it seems like the kitchen is twice as big...until somebody else walks in! Then it's crowded as ever, but it's a happy crowd. We can even see the sun coming in on the doors now. Love it!
