Hey, Coach!

Hi! I am having more fun with my Cricut Expression. Some cards are easier than others. This one wasn't too detailed, fortunately. My little, tiny brain can only handle so many little, tiny pieces!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #221 is called "Take Me Out to the Ballgame!" and requires something related to sports. Well, since my oldest son, Chris, is an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, I jumped right in to create a card for the challenge. I love hearing him called "Coach" so I cut out the Title and then cut out a player. Red and black are his team's colors, obviously.

I know it's safe to post his card because he's too busy coaching to stop and read Mom's blog!

Thank you for stopping by. I enjoy your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again real soon ~

Cool!

Hi there! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. It's almost over, and I wanted to quickly create a card for a new challenge.

This card will be entered into the Just Us Girls Photo Week #251 Challenge. I used Stampin Up's Sunny Fun stamp set, which is quite old. I love to bring it out during the hot summer days and create simple cards with the sweet design. (lol, pun intended!) I colored the images with Copic markers and then topped with a little bit of my Sakura glitter pen.

Thank you for stopping by today! I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again soon!

Water' You Doing?

Hi there! How are you today? I am still playing with my Cricut Expression! It's a bit addictive, you know.

This time I created a card that's a bit more simple than the last. Using Life Is A Beach cartridge, I cut the card design in blue paper. Following that, I cut another layer for the inside. Since the images were part of the first layer, I cut it two more times so I could create a yellow seahorse and green seaweed. Then I cut and paste the different colors of pieces on top of the first layer. Finally, I added the sentiment and some bling that would look like bubbles coming up from the water.

I like this card a lot, especially that added bling. It looks pretty in the sunlight. This wasn't a very difficult card to create, but it was lots of fun! Like I said, this can be addictive!

This is another card I'll be entering into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #220, which requires something related to Water.

Thank you for stopping by today. I appreciate your visits and comments very much, and I hope to see you again real soon!

Water

Hello! How is everybody today? I am enjoying a day simply crafting. Can't beat it! The weather is hot and sticky outside, so I am staying inside where it's cool but I can still see the sunshine.

This card was created for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #220, where it's supposed to include something to do with water. Using my Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge, this was cut with my Cricut Expression. It's been a while since I pulled out that big machine, but I loved it once I got started. This Hello Kitty image has a lot of little pieces, just like a lot of other images that are cut with Cricut. I added raindrops and a sentiment from the Boots4Rain stamp set from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life.

Thank you for stopping by today. I appreciate your comments and visits very much, and I hope to see you again soon ~

Window

Good afternoon! Hope everybody had a good weekend. Mine has been very busy--just the way I like it!

Today I'm posting a card I created for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. I die cut a window using Grand Madison Window die by Poppy Stamps Inc. Then I cut several little flowers and a couple of branches from my Sizzix Flowers, Branches & Leaves set. After adhering them together, I added a dot of Liquid Pearls in each and then attached them to the window. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs.

This is a card I've been wanting to create ever since I received the window die. Glad I finally had the inspiration to do it!

Feathers

Hello! Hope your day is going well. The rain has disappeared, for a day at least, and the warm sun is shining brightly in my window. What a beautiful day! That's quite a relief after getting stuck in the rain yesterday!

I just love this stamp set from Gina K Designs (GKD) called Stamper's Favorites, illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger. It has lots of beautiful images and sweet sentiments. The feather for this card was stamped in GKD Ocean Mist ink for the background, which I wrapped in GKD Ocean Mist ribbon. It was also embossed with Swiss Dot Embossing Folder by Sizzix. I stamped the main image in GKD Turquoise Sea ink. Both the background and main image were layered with black cardstock.

This has to be one of my favorite cards. The colors are gorgeous, and I love that ribbon. What do you think? Your opinion matters a lot to me, so please feel free to write away!

Popsicles

Hello! How is everyone doing today? I'm a little chilled and wet. It's pouring down the rain outside. I got stuck in it while coming back from an appointment. My feet got soaked because I was wearing flip-flops. Yuk! It's a good day to stay inside and CRAFT, don't you think? Yes!

I have a new Cricut Cartridge called Edge to Edge and I wanted to use it for this card. The background is what I created with my Cricut machine and the new Cartridge. Isn't it cool? I've seen dies that create similar images but I just had to try it with my Cricut.

The images are from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life's stamp set called Pops2Eat. (That's a mouthful!...pun intended!) I stamped the images, cut them out, covered with glitter using my Wink of Stella pen (new!) then coated with Glossy Accents. I love the texture that provides--almost like rubber. Anyway, I attached the popsicles to the background and then added the sentiment and the Baker's Twine. Love this card! What fun to create those popsicles. Made me hungry for one!

Thanks for stopping by today. I enjoy your comments and visits very much and hope to see you again real soon. Stay dry!

Be Tuff!

Hello, friends! Hope you're having a good weekend. The rain has finally stopped, so I'm planning some time at the pool.

This is my inspirational card for the Outlawz Paper a la Mode Challenge. The theme is Animals. I love this cute dog stamp by Anita's and all the dog/cat embellishments by Sue Zipkin's Zippy Bow Wow Meow.

I had lots of fun going through my collection of dog/cat stuff and selecting what I'd use for my card. The message is actually on vellum, and the fire hydrant is a sticker. I added the stars at the last minute just for (more) fun. There's probably more stuff on there than I usually put on a card, but it's OK.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your comments and visits very much, as they keep me moving forward on this creative journey. Have a good day!

Sweet Treat

Hello! How are you today? I hope you are having a good week. It is dark and rainy today, but I'm having fun playing inside with my Cricut machine and stamps.

This card was created for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #218 that asks for cards relating to Summer Treats. I thought this image worked well. It's from Love You a Latte Cricut Lite Cartridge, and I used it with my Personal Cricut Machine. What fun! Lots of layers with this one, and I added some Stickles on top of the cupcake to resemble Sprinkles. The sentiment is from a stamp by Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life.

I enjoy this Challenge, as it keeps me using my Cricut Machine and exploring more options I have with each Cartridge I own (several, to say the least).

Thanks for stopping by today! I appreciate your visits and comments very much, and I hope to see you again real soon! Take it easy ~

Operation Write Home Flag Challenge 2

Here's my second card for Operation Write Home's Mid-Week Challenge, which requires a flag on the card. This card is called an "Any Hero Card" and will be sent to a soldier who is fighting for our Country. Operation Write Home is a tremendous organization who accepts handmade cards created either for soldiers to send home or for the soldiers themselves. This one is for the soldier himself.

I matted a large sticker and placed it on patterned paper. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs. I added a small star brad to the tag so it would stay on.

Thank you so much for looking again today. I appreciate your comments and visits very much. If you have time, check out this challenge at the link above and join in!

Operation Write Home Flag Challenge 1

Here's an "Any Hero Card" I created to send to a Hero through Operation Write Home. This is a tremendous operation I've enjoyed participating with for several years. Often I create cards the soldiers can use to send home, and other times I create cards such as this to send to the Hero itself just to say Thank You.

I used stamps from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life for the sentiment, and the stars are stamped and fussy cut using images from Gina K Designs. The three images on the bottom of the card are actually stickers that I matted separately.

This card will be entered into Operation Write Home's Midweek Throwdown Challenge. For this Challenge, we are to include a card with a flag on it.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope everybody survived the storm yesterday. Arthur was a bit fierce around here, and I'm glad he's moved on! Take it easy and have a Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Birthday, Darnell!

Happy Birthday  to my dear friend and pen pal, Darnell! If you haven't joined her blog, you've gotta jump in and join us! She's a blast, and I promise you there will be a smile on your face and a chuckle in your gut before you finish the day's blog post. She has a wonderful hampster, named Hammy, who creates right along with her and never fails to give his opinion. Darnell also has a way with acronyms, and soon your vocabulary will increase with a new list of words you'd never thought of before.

This card was created using the Split-Negative technique. I stamped the butterfly twice, once on black paper and the other on white. The butterfly on the black paper was heat embossed with white, and the one on the white was embossed with black. After cutting the butterfly in half (OUCH!), I paired up the two pieces and attached it to a piece of paper before adhering to the red background.

This wasn't an easy technique for me. I found it rather difficult to cut my image in half without squinting first. I even yelled a big OUCH while cutting. After I got through that trauma, I was able to quickly get my card together.

The paper is from Gina K Designs Berries and Vines patterned paper pack, and the butterfly is from the Gina K Designs Bold and Beautiful stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today! I am so happy you can join in with Darnell's Birthday Celebration!
